At-deskHubDock
7-port USB-C hub dock
Single-cable docks combine display, storage, and charging passthrough. This listing separates upstream power delivery limits from USB data bandwidth, because a hub can accept 85 W while forwarding only a fraction to the laptop.
Power delivery passthrough
Many docks advertise high PD input but cap passthrough at 60–65 W after internal hub circuitry draws power. Laptops that need the full OEM wattage may still require a direct connection for heavy workloads even when the dock is plugged in.
Display and port bandwidth
- HDMI generation: 4K at 60 Hz requires HDMI 2.0 or DisplayPort alt mode with sufficient lane allocation; some hubs limit external displays to 30 Hz at 4K.
- USB-A sharing: Multiple storage devices on the same USB 3.x root hub can share bandwidth—large file transfers may slow when other ports are active.
- Ethernet option: If present, check whether the NIC is gigabit-capable or USB 2.0 limited; desk setups with large backups should verify speed independently.
