100 W GaN wall charger
Gallium nitride bricks shrink size while supporting higher wattage, but the printed total is still shared across ports. This listing walks through per-port allocation tables and when Programmable Power Supply (PPS) matters for variable-voltage devices.
Reading the wattage table
Manufacturers publish combination charts: one laptop on USB-C1 may receive 100 W, but adding a phone on USB-C2 often reduces the primary port to 65 W or lower. Treat the chart as the authoritative source—not the largest number on the packaging.
GaN efficiency and heat
- Size vs. silicon: GaN units typically run cooler and occupy less bag space than older silicon bricks at similar wattage.
- PPS support: Some Android handsets and small appliances benefit from PPS fine-grained voltage steps; absence of PPS does not break standard PD charging but may limit peak phone speeds.
- Outlet clearance: Compact bodies can block adjacent sockets on power strips—measure strip spacing if desk outlets are tight.
