Dual-port car fast charger
Cigarette-lighter adapters negotiate PD profiles from the vehicle’s 12 V or 24 V supply. This listing covers independent port protocols, dash-cam coexistence, and why summer cabin heat can reduce sustained output.
Input voltage range
Passenger cars typically provide 12 V nominal; commercial trucks and some RV circuits use 24 V. Adapters labeled 12–24 V compatible include buck-boost circuitry; models limited to 12 V should not be used on 24 V systems even with a smaller fuse.
Dual-port behavior
- USB-C priority: The high-watt port often drops when USB-A is drawing current—consult the combination chart before assuming 65 W stays available.
- Dash cams: Always-on recording accessories may share the same outlet; consider a second socket or hardwired kit if total draw approaches fuse limits.
- Thermal throttling: Sun-heated cabins can push adapter cases above comfortable touch temperatures; throttling is a safety feature, not necessarily a defect.
